The story begins in northern California in the 1970's - when Eleni's mom, Jeanie, started baking big batches of cookies for all the lucky kids on the block. Fifteen years later, Eleni moved to Manhattan to chase her dreams. After several years, she tired of the hard-edged corporate world and returned to the dunkable edges of cookies.

She baked tray after tray of her mom's recipe. Soon she was selling her own scrumptious version out of her apartment. But New Yorkers wanted more. So Eleni opened a bakery in Chelsea and became famous for her hand-iced shapes and whimsical designs, which earned the nickname "Conversation Cookies".
