Memorial Day 2012
Summer is bearing down on us very quickly and our thoughts turn to our barbecues and yards, to swimming, fishing, and any number of activities that were difficult, unpleasant or impossible in the winter. Our spring here in Atlanta has been quite wonderful, and the really hot weather has been held at bay. We suspect, though, that 90 degree temperatures are right around the corner! It will soon be ice coffee time. At our house that means brewing up the coffee the night before, and enjoying a cold coffee with a little milk in the morning. While perusing the archives we found something a little more elaborate, which might make a nice afternoon "dessert" drink on Memorial Day:
“Martinez Frappuccino”
In a blender combine:
- Double espresso
- 8 oz. ice
- 8 oz milk, preferably whole or 2%
- 2 scoops fat-free vanilla frozen yoghurt
- 12 coffee beans
Blend until the ice is crushed and you have a delicious 16 oz coffee drink!
Spice Up the Grill
Don’t forget to spice up your Memorial Day with some Busha Browne condiments. You can start with their delicious Spicy and Hot Pepper Sherry in your late morning Bloody Mary, or use some Authentic Jerk Seasoning on the chicken you grill in the afternoon.
