One of the sienna red spoons shows some wear on the enameled bowl. One of the bud green spoons has a small chip in the enamel at the stem end of the bowl.
The spoons come in a silk and velvet-lined fitted box with "Wilson & Gill, Jewellers, 139-141 Regent Street, London" printed on the inside silk.
The hallmark is an anchor, passant lion, and an italic capital "F".
Spoon Dimensions: 4 1/8" long and 7/8" wide at the bowl. Each spoon weighs 0.3 ounces.
Box Dimensions: 5 1/2" wide by 7 3/4" by 1" high.
The spoons were designed and manufactured by Suckling, Ltd, a silversmith based in Birmingham, the traditional seat of spoon and fork manufacture in England. The firm, as far as we can ascertain, existed from 1920 to 1965 and is the successor firm to William Suckling, Ltd. (1895-1920).
