J. Martinez & Company - The World's Finest Gourmet Coffees

Gourmet Coffees

J. Martinez & Company procures green coffee from the top growers around the world. Our Estate Coffees are from single growers, and we contract for the best of their crop. Our Specialty Coffees are selected from specific micro-climates within various countries’ coffee growing regions. Our blended coffees are carefully formulated blends, including the first coffee blend in the world, created by the Dutch, Mocha Java. Our Espresso coffee is an award-winning blend in the Northern Italian style of espresso blends.

Scroll down to browse the entire collection of Premium Estate Coffees, Specialty Coffees, Coffee Blends, and Gourmet Espresso available from J. Martinez & Company.

We roast our gourmet coffee beans fresh on the day of shipment. Although we recommend that beans be ground just before brewing, we will, of course, grind them for you if requested.

Estate Coffee

It was John Martinez who first introduced the concept of estate coffee, and this continues to be our primary focus. The particular region and farm in which the coffee beans are grown has just as much of an impact on the flavor of the coffee as it does on wine, so we have built relationships with growers across the world in order to bring you the best of their crops. We buy directly from the coffee grower to ensure that we are carrying the best coffee available.

Our estate coffees also include our selection of premium Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee. The Blue Mountain region of Jamaica is known for producing the most prized coffee in the world, and we are very pleased to be able to offer Blue Mountain Jamaican coffee from two different estates: Wallenford and Clifton Mount.

Specialty Coffee

When it is not possible to source the coffee to a single estate, we obtain premium coffee beans from specific regions known for their outstanding coffees. These are also known as “straights” or origin coffees. We offer a wide variety of specialty coffees, including many coffees from the Caribbean, coffees from Asia, and a number of African varieties, including Tanzanian peaberry and an organic and fair trade coffee from Ethiopia.

Gourmet Espresso & Coffee Blends

We have also created our own selection of specialty coffee blends, including breakfast and after-dinner coffees, as well as our award winning Don Giovanni's Espresso Bellissimo. We use the same top-quality premium coffees to formulate our blends that we offer to you as single-estate and specialty coffees, never sacrificing quality by adulterating our gourmet coffees with inferior beans.

Swiss Water Decaffeinated Gourmet CoffeesDecaffeinated Coffees

For those who prefer decaffeinated coffee, we offer nine coffees decaffeinated by the SWISS WATER® process.

The SWISS WATER® logo next to the product description indicates that it is available decaffeinated.

  1. Jamaica Blue Mountain "Wallenford Estate"

    Jamaica Blue Mountain "Wallenford Estate"

    $50.00
per pound (also available by the half pound)

At the eastern end of the island of Jamaica, the Grand Ridge of the Blue Mountains runs east to west and soars to a height of 7,402 feet. On the cool and misty slopes of the Blue Mountains beans of rare quality and aroma grow on steep hillsides and are processed at the historic Wallenford mill. For over a hundred years, Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee has been the world’s most prized coffee, fetching the highest prices. It is a coffee of rich flavour and aroma, full body and moderate acidity. And, it is deemed by the coffee experts of the world to possess all characteristics in perfect balance in the cup.

The Wallenford Estate coffee is distinguished by fruit in the nose and is brighter in the cup than the Clifton Mount, which we also offer. It is so well-balanced that even those of us used to adulterating our coffee with sugar or milk will find that this coffee is supremely smooth when black.

  2. Jamaica Blue Mountain "Clifton Mount Estate"

Jamaica Blue Mountain "Clifton Mount Estate"

    $50.00
per pound (also available by the half pound)

For over a hundred years, Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee has been the world’s most prized coffee, fetching the highest prices. And, it is deemed by the coffee experts of the world to possess all characteristics in perfect balance in the cup.

The Clifton Mount coffee greets you with an waft of chocolate and florals. It has a rich taste and is rounder in the mouth than the Wallenford, which we also carry. It is, like most Blue Mountain coffees, so well-balanced that even those of us used to adulterating our coffee with sugar or milk will find that this coffee is supremely smooth when drunk black.

Clifton Mount Estate is located in the heart of Jamaica's Blue Mountains on the cool and misty slopes of Catherine's Peak. One of the oldest coffee plantations in Jamaica, Clifton Mount has been producing beans of rare quality and aroma since the 1790's. Encouraged by John Martinez, in 2004, a mill was built to process the coffee on the property so that it could be offered as an estate coffee.
